Mondays - Still Life: Disegno and Intent
A unique six-week course on how we can learn from master painters dating back as far as the 14th century. There are no secrets,there is just more understanding. Studying and understanding the masters process will give students more knowledge to conceiving the”concept” and to executing the application of the”craft” in their own paintings in our contemporary world. Students will work on designing their paintings with clear intent, starting with a solid value structure and progressing to a palette that reveals complete harmony in their paintings.
Class size is limited to 8 students.
Tuesdays - Portrait Study: Sight sized or Sight?
Portrait Studies from Sketch to finish. While we paint from a model we will also take a unique look at the unfinished works of the masters; their process and what brought them to such a high level of skill. The question is, “Is it Sight Sized or Sight?” How exactly do we see and execute a whole image?
Class size is limited to 6 students.
