Italy Painting Trip - 2009

This past September, I led a group of artists to paint for two weeks just outside of Florence, Italy. The trip was unique because all of us artists were professionals and able to work on our own venues. Our home base was Residenza del Palmerino. Our daily painting routine offered unlimited possibilities as we were invited to paint in neighboring villas and in the gardens of Villa Peyron and Villa la Pietra, owned by New York University. We also made a one-day side trip to Chianti wine country.
Our trip wound down with an art show put on by our hosts at Palmerino attended by over sixty people with the purchase of several of our artworks. Several of the works were purchased by Ffast (Fondazione Fremantle per Artisti Stranieri in Toscana) for the emerging art museum at Villa Peyron. The next day we took part in the grape harvest at Palmerino followed by an outdoor feast for all the participants.
I will be elaborating, in future posts, on places and events mentioned in this post. Should you be interested in the 2011 trip being planned for next September, please email me for more information. If you feel you would like instruction on this trip, I am available. From past experience, I have found that each trip takes on its own character. That is what makes it interesting and fun.
